Adventure Overview
Kumara Parvatha (Pushpagiri) is the highest peak in the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary. Often cited as the most difficult trek in South India, it demands serious physical fitness. The reward is a walkthrough of ancient temple trails (Subrahmanya), the misty Bhattara Mane, and the sheer verticality of Shesha Parvatha before reaching the final peak.

The Detailed Itinerary

Day 0
Departure
Overnight journey from Bangalore starting at 09:30 PM.

Day 1
The Long Ascent
Arrive at Kukke Subrahmanya, refresh, and start the steep trek to Bhattara Mane. After lunch, continue to the peak via Shesha Parvatha. This is the most challenging stretch. Return to Bhattara Mane for a night stay under the stars.

Day 2
Descent & Temple Visit
Descend back to Kukke Subrahmanya. Visit the ancient temple. Depart for Bangalore, reaching by late night.
Know Before You Go
- • Strictly NO plastic; forest guards check every bag at the entry
- • Tenting at the peak is banned; stay is at Bhattara Mane homestay/clearing
- • Water sources are very limited after Bhattara Mane; carry 3L+
- • Physical training 2 weeks prior is highly recommended
- • Forest entry fees and permissions are strictly managed via QR scan
